Has sound been disabled in 3689 ?
There is no such problem with 3663.

Hi fares, did you mean enable "Windows Audio" under Administrative Tools\Service ?
I have already changed it to Start automatically.
In 3663, you can install "Sound Recorder, Sound Volume" under Control Panel\Add Windows Components\Accessories and Utilities.
In 3689, it is just not there.

Sephiroth is an unknown quantity at this point
Send a message via MSN to Sephiroth
check the file sysoc.inf , if it is listed in the file and has HIDE, after it, delete the hide and i believe the comma after it as well (not positive off the top of my head so backup the file first) then rerun the add / remove windows component wizard and it should show up

Thank you everyone.
Fares was right. I had to manually install the sound card.
It was not like WinXP which can pick up the driver automatically.
Anyway, I got sound and video now.
