Has sound been disabled in 3689 ?
There is no such problem with 3663. |
you have to enable it in all versions.go to admin tools services and it is the last service down there.
|
Hi fares, did you mean enable "Windows Audio" under Administrative Tools\Service ?
I have already changed it to Start automatically. In 3663, you can install "Sound Recorder, Sound Volume" under Control Panel\Add Windows Components\Accessories and Utilities. In 3689, it is just not there. |
Mmm funny...I canīt help you as I only have 3663 and havenīt been able to lay my hands on 3689 at all. (Must start using IRC ;) ). I would have suggested would you just said, but if it ain't there, mmm weird. Not under accesories or anything either?

check the file sysoc.inf , if it is listed in the file and has HIDE, after it, delete the hide and i believe the comma after it as well (not positive off the top of my head so backup the file first) then rerun the add / remove windows component wizard and it should show up

Thank you everyone.
Fares was right. I had to manually install the sound card. It was not like WinXP which can pick up the driver automatically. Anyway, I got sound and video now. |
