Original Playstation has ceased to beSONY HAS pulled the plug on the production of the original PlayStation after more than 11 years.
A spokesSony said that production of the original PlayStation, as well as the updated version of the console which had the title the "PSOne" will stop immediately.
The console has had a good innings. Sony has managed to flog more than 100 million of the things. It has probably been the best selling console of all time and been the machine of choice for a number of classics including Metal Gear Solid to Final Fantasy VII.
However 11 years is not the record for a bit of gaming technology to remain on the market. The NES lasted for 20 years and was only retired in 2003. If you remember it, you were not there man. More here [
