New Catalyst driver shows impressive results
THE eDimensional AudioFX gaming headset gets reviewed at Techwarelabs. There is a surge in the number of such products lately. The headset comes witha microphone, a bass-boosting feature and a LED meter on each ear piece for those who fancy modding. Excellent sound, not expensive and no batteries needed. MVKTech checks the OCZ EB DDR PC4000 2GB Kit. As written some days ago, 2GB seems to be the new sweet spot for those looking for ultimate performance. And with the advent of Vista, it might be a worthy upgrade. These memories have recently been featured in this columns. These 500MHz rate parts come with silvery grey heat spreaders and Infineon memory modules. MVKTech found no cons to it and loved it to bits.p> Tweaktown has analysed the performance of the new ATI Catalyst 5.11 - X1K edition using seven different benchmarks - including F.E.A.R. Performance increase across the board were impressive and those drivers do fix a number of bugs as well as bringing some new features to the X1x00 line. Download them if you can.p> Morphy Richards is more associated, here in the UK, with white electricals - kettle, irons etc. So it was quite a surprise to see them launch a portable DAB/FM MP3 player, the Morphy Richards 29200. But like most MR products, its looks seems amateurish and plasticky. And the price you pay, albeit for a portable DAB radio, is rather high. Good points though for the size and the long autonomy. Shame though that you can't record to the internal memory.p> Pureoverclock reviewed the Sapphire X800GTO Ultimate some days ago, just before the 6800GS was officially launched. You may even mod it to a quasi 16-pipes X850XT PE - memory and core clocks though would remain the same. But then X850XT PE cards are dropping in price very quickly. As for the card, it is very good value for money, is completely silence, an excellent overclocker but does not have any VIVO.p> To conclude today's HWR, BIOSmagazine reviews the latest Epson Stylus photo, the R340. This one adds optical disc printing - on compatible media, as well as a LCD preview display and memory card reader. As for most photo quality printers, its printing times are horrendously high as is its resolution and the price per print. Do consider other printers in the Epson range and others before buying this one.
