Hya,

To disable the Shutdown Event Tracker (that lame function that won't let you shutdown .NET without giving a reason for it) on you new .NET Server installation do the following:

Start MMC.EXE, and choose to add a new snap-in. Add the Group Policy Object Editor, and add it to the local machine. Now navigate to System (Local computer policy - Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - System) and edit the "Shutdown Event Tracker should be displayed" value. Enable it, and then set it to "Workstation only".

I know some sites say you can set it to "Never" but I can't set that value on my boxes.

Yes LeCactus ..this is a verry good tip. I hav alredy in the 3590 this event tracker with this method deaktivate.

even though i did it still showing that with3663.any ideas
it was fine with 3660.

it looks like i turn it to unconfigered instead of disabled. worked. thanks for the tip.
