Hya,
To disable the Shutdown Event Tracker (that lame function that won't let you shutdown .NET without giving a reason for it) on you new .NET Server installation do the following: Start MMC.EXE, and choose to add a new snap-in. Add the Group Policy Object Editor, and add it to the local machine. Now navigate to System (Local computer policy - Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - System) and edit the "Shutdown Event Tracker should be displayed" value. Enable it, and then set it to "Workstation only". I know some sites say you can set it to "Never" but I can't set that value on my boxes. Hopes this helps. Cheers! |
thanks for the info..
