I recent used IE to download a 7MB file using a ftp link but it would only complete 5MB or so of the file. Windows never told me it could not finish the file. I think this might be a bug with SP2 v.2149

If anyone could please test this on their system with the same build and reply here, I'd greatly appreciate it.

TIA

Or could be the server you were downloading from. Did you try more than one server.

Anyways just tested it on my old test comp. and works with with rc2.

Yes it was all with the same server. Since it worked fine with FlashFXP but not IE/Windows I just assumed it might be the SP2 update. I'll try to find more info and post it here. <_<

Edit - I found out the server I was downloading from was Serv-U 5.0.0.11 and others have not noticed problems with other server programs. I question if it's just a problem with SP2 and Serv-U 5.0.0.11

Looks like there is something wrong with IE6 in XP SP2 RC2?

I never succeeded downloading files using IE6 unless I used a download manager.

Cheers,

The download bug in IE has been fixed in v2162. Well, at least for me.

So indeed there has been a problem with it.

With the new build I've had to start using a download manager. If I don't the download gets between 25 - 50 % and just stalls. Every download I've tried with IE reacts this way.

Yep, I too can confirm it HotRod. The problem is now actually half-fixed for me. Although the File Download box is now coming up, the file does not download successfully. A 7 MB file finishes downloading within 5 seconds (in dialup). But the download is not complete.
