You can boot from your windows CD and choose repair

After that, run chkdsk /f

Maybe this will works and repair your windows installation.

thats strange.

have just used the windows xp pro cd (sp2 integrated) and run chkdsk with the /? option, and it doesnt have the /f option listed.

i tried chkdsk /f and it tells me the /f paramtere isnt even recognised. thats wierd cuz microsofts online help says u can use /f

if this dont work, then will have to use erd commander. hopefully will have better luck with that.

just a shame tho, cuz chkdsk had run and informed me there are errors on the drive, but i cant fix em cuz its not allowing me to use /f
