How many run their system like this?? Just cruisin thru the net tonite and I found several articles that say the performance hit in XP is not that great... I enabled compression on my D drive and damn did it free some space and it didn't seem to slow it down but it was just a nothing test, I would like to hear some feedback on personal experiences

Ok this os probably an old thread now, blame me for joining so late.

My daughter setup her test machine a couple of months ago, added quite a bit to it, running the good old Windows XP with NTFS and had a hard drive that was quite full, I was sitting on BetaOne the other day saw this post and couldnt help but shout at her to give it a go.

She compressed her drive and yes what a difference in free space she ended up with, It seemed to free up roughly 5gig on her 45gig hard drive.
As of now she doesnt seem to have found any problems in system being or running any slower either.

I hope this helps

Chris
