You're in trouble. PM8 has Fked up your MBR. I never did figure out how to edit the MBR so I had to do a low level format! I now use Acronis Partition Expert.
Good luck!

If this is the MBR, I can repair it with the XP installation CD

Ya, you should use FDISK instead. It's old, and reliable. Oh ya!

Yeap i use fdisk.
Just had to do low level format last time since the ms dos fdisk does not work 100% with ntfs, if at all.

If you're having trouble with the MBR, use the FDISK command with /MBR switch. I thought I had erased a Linux partition, but it would never format. The FDISK command with the above switch clears the MBR and fixed it. It was also good to clear viruses, if your conventional memory in CHKDSK showed anything else but 655,360, you had a virus and this would fix it.

I'm using PM for years now, never had problems !!!
Did you try to make the disks , and start from dos ?
PM uses a kind of batch , I think thats the problem not finding the "boot seq.."
