Hello,
I'm running windows XP with SP2. I want to install longhorn on my pc. I run Partition Magic 8, and all is ok since I reboot :( Partition magic cannont find the "boot sequential" and I have to hit a key to continue :blink: I hit the reset and reboot, the same screen with Partition magic and hit the reset again....................After I hit the F8 and choose load the last known good configuration and all is ok, but I don't have my new partition <_< Any help ? Thanks |
Sorry, I don't use Partition Magic beacuse it has fucked me many times.
Good luck getting it figured out. I would make a ghost though with norton ghost or something before you continue incase everything its totally messed up. cya, Will |
Still need help please :(
Thanks |
@bads - couldn't find any reference to
boot sequential in the PDF file for PM 8 Any chance that you have a dual boot set up already? |
Richard,
I don't have have a dual boot :( I just check with msconfig and my boot.ini is correct |
I wish I could help you, but I don't use Partition Magic. I don't even have a partition on my HD. :o
I thought I'd reply here and if nothing else bump you on the front page for others to see and help. :) |
yeah, I have not had alot of luck with PM either; I was gonna do the same thing; that is partition my XP machine and try Longhorn, but I had the same prob when trying to make another partition..
Still checking around to see if there are any other "easier" partition proggies! wase4711 wase4711 |
@bads
just wondering whether you had another version/instance/install of PM? Have you tried uninstalling PM and reinstalling it on C:\ and rebooting several times before trying to creat another partiton? @wase4711 - have you looked at this one? _http://www.ranish.com/part/ |
I will retry to make my partition and see what is exactly the "message"
|
You're in trouble. PM8 has Fked up your MBR. I never did figure out how to edit the MBR so I had to do a low level format! I now use Acronis Partition Expert.
Good luck! }---:) |
