just want to know which one everyone here would recommend. and what amount of memory. i will be getting at least 64MB.
i'm building a computer for my dad and just wondering which one. i don't know how much he is willing to spend yet, but probably nothing over $100. also, he probably won't be doing to much gaming with it. maybe some rc simulators, need for speed, maybe some other racing games. he's not into rpg's.

You can get a decent g-force for under 60.00 CAD. I have an ATI and they can be bitchy depending on what chipset you have in the motherboard.

I vote g-force, driver wise they update frequently, and support lot of games rather the ATI with poor driver support.

Talk about a false and misleading statement, ATI's current catalyst driver program calls for about 8-10 major driver releases per year, their catalyst program has been on track since it's enception late last year. Not only have they passed NVIDIA in the speed and visual department they have passed them when it comes to customer supprt and driver release and quality.
Your statement may have been true at one time, but that is not the case any longer.

I tend to agree with kamikazee here... I have an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, and have had no problems with it. ATI's driver support has come a long way. Yes, back in the day before the Radeons, their driver support was pretty horrible - but that has changed. Couldn't be more happier with my video card.

Ya, if you actually read his post, then you would have noticed that this machine is not a gaming machine. It's for his DAD, duh.

I use ATI myself, and it works fine for games...I *rarely* play any though. The driver's work great. Havn't had any problems.

thanks guys.
i have an gf2 ti 64mb ddr and like it, but i don't do any heavy gaming either. play nfs:hp2 and gta: vice city every now and then, and also rct2 a little, but thats basically it for gaming.
still haven't decided which one yet.
