Ummmm... The point in this test, is to do a real transfer, between 2 nodes in the Internet2 network, not how much the teoretichal speed could be.
If you have a point to point OC256, you can not set any speedrecord on the _internet_
Even the fastest connection has its weak links, and those weak links will slow down your transferspeed.
One of the reasons for building the Internet2 network used setting this record,
is all the weak links and slowdowns in todays Internet.
