Title: Software Issues.
The Power of the Company
I did start copule of month ago thinking of what the software idustry where doing to the live of there users, then I most mean Microsoft Corp, since most users use Windows 98/2000/XP and if they where doing what they where saying. Like respecting there pricay of there users, sorry to say, this last days (This is written 30.06.2002) have bin dissapointing for me, since the new linceagrement allows Microsoft to go into your computer (Windows XP) and do what ever they like to it, and del, update and or lock your out of your own computer, whit out even telling you.
I think this is bad for the user, company that breaks its own police, tells me (for my point of view) that is not wort the bytes is telling us what it is doing. Now, as I was telling here above. Microsoft was in other word, changing the Windows Media player into one big spyware, and remote connect machine, and do what ever they whant to do whit it, even delting your own document, and what is bad, you can't sue them, the licence agreement make it so, that you can't sue microsoft in any way, since they have right to do this. Now, enugh of that part, what will they do whit all those info that they can collect, well for one thing, they are sure to become an "Big brother" and this is not the goverment, it is the privite company busness that is doing this.
The real danger is that, the goverment is going to kept sleeping by those companys, since someone has to pay to those election funds for those sentors in the USA, and for the president ect., and for my part, i'm sure that they can always "fix it" so it comes out good for them, execpt Microsoft, that seems to have no luck whit the goverment in resent month. I'm not saying that all companys are acting like "big brother", but i'm sure that we all know about few companys that are acting like that.
Now the are other type of companys out there acting like they own the world. Those compays act like all there users are dumb and don't know shit about the world and there computer for that matter. and they think that they can do anything whit there computer, becose the users is never going to figure it out. Realplayer is and real good example about one of those companys, i'm sure that are may others companys that act like that out there. Thinking that they are "big brother".
Copyright Power.
The power that the copyright gives companys to do anything that they whant is amzing I say, becose they seems to be able to get up whit anything in the name of the "Copyright" and "licence agreement", in fact, the power of licence agreements are so powerful that companys can even, get rid of all those responsybiltes if there software fucks up your computer. The Copyright and licence allows companys allows them, to remove the software if they don't like what you are doing whit it. I did also here rumors about that, Microsoft did include that in the licence for Microsoft Word (I don't know what version or even is that is true.), that you did not may write something bad about microsoft in Word, why? I guess that I will never know. Also is it worth to menshin that when you buy windows, what version it don?t matter, you are not buying anything but ear, since the licence agreement that Microsoft has done is in that way they are in reanting you the code of the software, so in fact you where not buying anything but ear, and making Microsoft richer. No wonder Microsoft don?t like linux, since there you do own the code, and you can get it for free.
