Have you ever wondered why you get so many
CRC errors, system crashes and illegal operation messages.

Many people put it down to corupt system files or a bad installation of software, incorrect registry value or a bad download etc.

Many people don't even think of there system RAM when stuff like this is happening to them.

People will always push their hardware to the limit.

Memory is very much overlooked as a cause of system crashes.

Why?
Because memory will appear to work fine even
with incorrect timing is appied.

Alot of folks will run through their Motherboard BIOS, setting up the fastest
possiable configurions.

Without going into to much nerd like detail,
system RAM should always be set by the SPD on newer motherboards, and set to the proper
LAT/CAS timing settings on manual ones.

Don't just take my word for it.
Try it!!!

I say a stable system is a good system.

I have been running Win2k for nearly a year and a half now.
I've only had 2 or 3 crashes in that time.
I have never formatted and reinstalled this O/S at anypoint either.

Just a bit of TLC on your hardware and software does help!!!

Don't push the default hardware spec to the edge.

DO... look after your registry.
DO... defragment your harddrive.
DO... uninstall apps correctly.

(Overclocked systems can also be stable
when correctly done).

But that's other story.
