I have a 486 machine and am trying to install linux on it - I am finding that it won't recognize the CDrom to install it, also there is no selection in the bios to chose boot from cdr either..

I tried the boot floppies and all it does is stall.

Is there anyway to do this . that is not making me want to rip my hair out.

What I am trying to install is Red Hat 7.2 - The machine specs are 486 32 meg of ram, 2 gig HD.

Mine it is like this for anything I try to install on it - I dos'ent seem to regognize the CDrom - The only boot floppy that I founf that enables you to use it is the Win 98 boot disk.
