Not related, but didn't want to start a thread for this.

Is there any difference between an Ultra 100 IDE cable and an Ultra 133?
As you allready have been told, this is mostely a marketing scheme

In my mailserver, I was replacing all my "normal" cables with rounded,
to make better use of the internal spacing, and have more air cirkulation.

( The cables I was getting from a friend of mine in Denmark for free )

And some of the cables, the only one marked 133, had additional screening around them,
and came with a ground cable connected to the scrren, for screewing it to the chassis and make sure
any disturbing signals will be "tied" to ground, making sure the data won't be influenced.

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything. 14% of people know that.

I bought 2 rounded ones and after I got home noticed one says Ultra 100 and the other Ultra 133. Both have 80 wires, of course, and the same color coding on the primary, slave and mobo connectors. I couldn't find anything on my Google searches about this particular point.
as far as i know, the only difference is an ATA133 cable is a marketing scheme to get you to pay more money [/b][/quote]
I agree with making u pay more money quote.
All things that are faster than the previous version have always cost more.

Back to the ATA 100 and 133 stuff.

Refer to this link :http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/A/ATA.html

it provides a brief description of the ATA 100

ATA 133 - the difference is that the transfer rate is 133MBps
