I was looking at some motherboards, and they mentioned Serial ATA...what is it???

Hi there,

What is Serial ATA and why is it being developed?
Serial ATA is an evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA physical storage interface. Serial ATA is scalable and will allow future enhancements to the computing platform.

Not related, but didn't want to start a thread for this.

Is there any difference between an Ultra 100 IDE cable and an Ultra 133?

I bought 2 rounded ones and after I got home noticed one says Ultra 100 and the other Ultra 133. Both have 80 wires, of course, and the same color coding on the primary, slave and mobo connectors. I couldn't find anything on my Google searches about this particular point.
