How to format floppy 1.44 to 720k on xp?

Hi!

i don't know if I posted this guestion here in past,but I have still problem to formating floppy on xp machine.I try 2 programs maxformat and winimage,but in both I have a error when formating 1.44mb to 720k.I try several command in dos to,but some of them work if I cover the hol on floppy.(this command work if I cover the hol:format a: /t:80 /n:9 )
I need this format for some CNC programming machine.
I know they are a lot of expert here and if someone can help or made a simple patch to run it?

SYMPTOMS

Windows XP supports formatting only the 1.44MB disk format, while it can read/write the others

I remember seeing a post here that suggested booting to a DOS boot disk like Windows 98 and then doing it from there.
Format.com gets extracted to the temporary RAM drive so you should be able to switch disks.

thanx guys,xp not support 720k format,I must do this in startup 98 disk

You can use winimage to format the disks to 720k
