Just bought this card, now I want to connect my frontpanel mic and phones to the card. I can see there is an Audio Extension Connector (AD_EXT) this is used for the Creatives FrontBracket (Audigy 2 Drive). If you can connect an external creative bracket then it should be possible to connect my case's mic/phone too.
The problem is, I can't find the specifications for the connectorpins on the card, in other words I dunno which pins to use and I can't seem to find it anywhere, neither in the manual or elsewhere. So the question is, does anybody know which pins to use ?

Got a pic of what your talking about? Which Audigy 2 card?
I got an Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro. and dont see what your talking about.

This could be a senior moment, but aren't the pins on the mobo? I have an Audigy 2 and have disabled he on board sound chip and have the front conecions on my Antec case connected to the mobo jack, as I recall.
edit: Yes, of course, you are right. Dumb me!  My Asus mobo has a plug for the Sonata front jacks, which uses the 10 pin plug. I have the onboard sound chip disabled, so, of course I can't use the front jacks. |

You can't see the pins that well on the picture they are sitting on the end that is away from the front of the picture. It looks like an IDE-connector on the MB, but isn't.
@rikytek, you mean you use both soundcards or what ? I mean, if you disable the mobo soundcard, it wouldn't help connecting to the pins there, or do I get you wrong ?

I have the Platinum and it states that the AD_EXT should only be used by their Front Panel Drive using their AD_EXT ribbon cable. It does not have any instructions on installing other front panel connectors...no big surprise.
I think that your question may be beyond the scope of this forum. Hopefully, others prove me wrong. I would suggest that you call Creative Tech Support.

For those still interested in hooking up their front audio ports (Super Lanboy/P160/Sonata) to their Audigy2 ZS (possibly Audigy2), I've been doing some research.
Despite lack of information from Creative, my Audigy2 ZS is fitted with a white 10 in-line pin connector(Intel-Standard?) at the top near the bracket(My Audigy2 does not have this although the picture on the box shows it). A similar connector can be found behind the audio ports on my P160 and a Super Lanboy I'm building for a friend.
Oddly Dell uses the same connector behind its audio ports on my daughters Dimension 8250.
Here's Antecs hook-up instructions:
Please follow these directions to make your Audio Connection.
There is an Intel standard 10-pin connector (with also 7 individual wires with individual connectors) attached to a gray wire leading from the front panel speaker and microphone connection. If your motherboard supports Intel's standard onboard audio connector, you can plug the 10-pin connector directly onto the board. For non-Intel standard audio connections, you need to plug the 7 individual connectors into the motherboard.
Instructions for non-standard audio connections.
1. Locate the internal audio connectors from your motherboard or sound card.
2. Consult your motherboard or sound card manual for the pin-out positions.
3. Microphone Power Pin: Connect the MIC connector to this pin.
4. Microphone Input Pin: Connect the MIC-BIAS connector to this pin.
5. Ground Pin: Connect the AUD GND connector to this pin.
6. Front Right Speaker Out Pin: Connect the FPOUT-R connector to this pin.
7. Front Left Speaker Out Pin: Connect the FPOUT-L connector to this pin.
8. Rear Right Speaker Out Pin: Connect the RET-R connector to this pin.
9. Rear Left Speaker Out Pin: Connect RET-L connector to this pin.
Note: Your motherboard may not support rear speakers output. In this case you do not need to connect RET-R and RET-L.
The connector is white and about 1" long. Where does one find this cable and do some Audigy 2's have this connector too?

The white 10 pin in-line connector is Dell proprietary which I found out through Creatives Developer site. They sent me the pinouts which I have at home.
I'll post them later. They don't seem to match exactly to the Antec connectors as Antec has provision for rear speakers and
Dell has rear panel mute signalling but I'm betting it could be made to work

My Audidgy 2 has a space marked out for the white connector shown in the ncix.com image, but there is no connector mounted on the board.
Strange since my Audigy Board is marked Model 0240, same as the one in the image on the ncix.com site. On the other hand, my Asus Mobo, P4C800 has an on board plug. Have an Antec Sonata case which has the right plug already installed on the front jack wires.
