Got a BT Ethernet Router at work sitting here. I can't access it to change the setup (ie setup IP Forwarding etc.) I know it is 'locked down' by BT, is there any way of changing this so I can configure it? Or is this infringing on the policy of this forum? If so, ignore this bit

The only other option is to get a decent router. Any suggestions?

On a silver label:
Model 5861
Part Number: 120-5861-003

Under a barcode:
W1349436

Thats about it. All I can do is log in to connect or disconnect. No configure options.

Looks like this (black though) 4 ethernet ports on the back, one DSL line link.

Yea.. telnet might work too, i've telnetted into a modem b4.. and some modems/routers use software to configure them as well. just try to see where it stands.

There is no software for the modem to configure it.

The router is made by Efficient Networks.

Try logging into the router using http://192.168.1.1:8080 (Replace the address as neccesary) When you get to a screen try one of these user\password combo's:

If that fails try connecting to the router by telnet. From the command prompt type 'telnet o 192.168.1.1' with out the quotes and try those combo's of user\passwords.

When you eventually log into the router you are on your own i am afraid, unless someone here is conversant with telnet and can help you.
