well my box was connected to it thru port 827. i didn't connect there. my hdd was running and "Explorer" was using 45 megs of memory. i didn't think to check if any bandwidth was being used.

I dont know what sa.windows.com is but I know that m$ owns the domain windows.com
Then again I don't know what that is worth. How did you get there?

i have no idea how i got connected there. i just noticed my hardrive running for no reason,looked at things, and notice that i was connected to that address.

Checking my firewall preferences and it's good to see that all m$ applications are denied access to the Net. Except of their search engine it also includes all the Office-applications, mediaplayers, osa and other things.

I thought it was strange myself.
The first time I did a file search I remember my firewall asking for internet access and I denied it.
Sheez, all I wanted to do was search my hard drive, don't need no outgoing connections for that. LOL
(Hope that little doggie isn't too lonely)
