I've tried drive image 2002 and I guess it doesn't like my computer because it won't work. What other programs are there to use?

thanks.

unicorn is on a distinguished road
Also I would trust Ghost more than anything else. If you have Anacronis True Image that could also be an option. I know it doesn't work for everybody, but if it does it's conveniant to use (incl an simple process to setup a boot-cd).

guess i'm just out of luck. i can't get nti to create iso files. it creates .npf so it would mean i would have to have nti installed for it to work, right?

ok i need some more help with it. especially with drive image 2002.
here is what it gives me after it reboots (error 91):
Quote:

Click if this solves your problem!

Solution: Error 91 Disk Manager has been detected on drive %lu

If Disk Manager is not needed, you can remove its signature from the Master Boot Record using the following command:

FDISK /CMBR <drive number>

where <drive number> indicates the drive where the Disk Manager signature is located (for example, 1).

If you are not sure whether Disk Manager is required, backup head 0 using the WRPROG utility. The correct syntax is:

WRPROG /bak head0.dat

The head0.dat file can later be edited, if necessary.

If Disk Manager is on a drive other than the primary master hard drive, you must change jumpers to make it the primary master. This is necessary because WRPROG will only access the first hard drive.

Problem Description:
Error 91 Disk Manager has been detected on drive %lu
Error 91
Error 91 Disk Manager has been detected on drive %lu, but Disk Manager is not running. If you are booting from a floppy, remove the floppy disk and reboot. Press and hold the <SPACE BAR> key as your computer restarts. When prompted insert your boot floppy and continue booting.
i tried the fdisk command but its saying the syntax is wrong. can anyone help me again? thanks.

Can I make a suggestion? Why not use the software included with windows to make your backups. It works, and customizing what to back up and where to back up is pretty simple.

I think you need to do it off a DOS boot disk.
As far as "WRPROG" goes, I don't have that included in Drive Image but I have it in my Partition Magic folder.

You want to be carefull that you don't actually need that disk manager or your not going to be able to access your drives anymore.
If you used a floppy that came with your drive it might have added it without your system needing it. Most of those disks have a dignostic and removal utility so you might want to try that first.

Please be carefull,
Dave
