Does anyone know how to printout the contents of a folder such as "My Music" ? I would like to make a list; but don't want to retype all the names. Is it possible?

open a dos window, cd to the dir, and type:
Code:
dir >somefile.txt and if you want it to search directories below those and include the files in subfolders too, append a /s after the dir |
I'll give it a try, but not very good in DOS. Thanks !

There is a utility called Karens Printdir. Runs in windows any version from win95 to XP. It can be manipulated to print almost anything, but definitely the content if a folder
h**p://w*w.karenware.com/powertools/ptdirprn.asp You must first install visual basic runtime ver 6, found at the same location. |
Thanks for the input !

Microsoft has a way to do just this without adding any addition software. Check out this link to the knowledge base article #321379: How To: Add a "Print Directory" Feature for Folders in Windows XP. Here is where it is located:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;321379 Please keep in mind that this is only a basic directory printer, you may need additional software if you want more features that this offers. |

Fares. I had to add the registry information to mine to get it to work properly. Did you do that to yours?
|
Once you add the registry info, you simply click on the file menu and you will see"Print file directory". Works well.
