Hi guys, here's a question for ya
What are the benefits of DDR Ram over RD Ram? I thought RD Ram were better but now I know that a lot of pals are using DDR Ram for some reason. Well, I'm still using SDRAM  |
RDRAMs should perform better than DDRRAM.
The reason why people still use DDRRAM more than RDRAM is, I think because, it is far more expensive than the more performance we can get. Interesting topic :) |
Not to mention that RD has a very nice "royalty" attached to it which makes it more expensive. DDR does not, the technology is free and open which tends to keep it more within our budgets.
|
Thax for dropping at my post, ppl. But there's also PC1066 and how come DDR333 or 400 or 433 be only a little bit slow or less performing? Is there something wrong with Rambus's technology?
|
Quote:
in others, RAM Bus has got the monopoly in RDRAM technology and DDRRAM and SDRRAM makers have got the competitiveness which brings the price down...;) |
Rambus has lawsuits against many memory companies...they lost overseas. Go DDR
|
Maybe ppl like DDR because u can install only One 256 to get 256 DDR
But with Rdam u need 2 128 To get 256! |
Oh, that's not good. It might be costly if you try to upgrade your RAM :o
Can anyone tell me why you have to install two RAMs of same type, instead of one? P.S. Long live DDR :D |
