An easy way to not have to worry it either way ---> Get a legal copy.
Thanks for the update. |

True. We all assume that every company computer has a legal copy of WinXP. I would bet that's not the case. What if that's a company you gave credit card or personal information to. They will not have the SP2 security update and you know the rest of the story. Not to mention all the bad news about security problems with Windows will not likely fade, like Zone-MR has pointed out above.
But of course this is nothing Microsoft has not already thought about. Quote:

Actually, Microsoft has not put any disabling ability in the new service pack. The current outlook is that even though someone may be using a pirated version, everyone requires protection from malicious code.
I tested this theory on a spare machine, and the machine is still working. Furthermore, an email from MS in regards to this situation has been distributed. |
Haha told ya guys.

Well I don't trust M$ for one second. There is an easy fix to the XP Corp SP2 2126 slipstream CD install. If this changes prior to the XP SP2 Final release, they have tampered with what they said they wouldn't. I own 2 XP Home and 2 XP Pro original, genuine and purchased by me versions, but prefer using XP Corp due to the bl??dy activation crap. I simply despise it. How many times have you had a dud XP install, no idea why, you try activating your XP twice in one day, or 3 times in a month, you can't unless you ring M$ up and get a code to enter. Hate it, hate it      Cheerz :) ;) :D |
