is this a beta or final version?

SlickVic78 2nd Jul 03 04:29 PM

It's a final version. It contains a patch to plug a security flaw within the player.

whats the version #

DoG 2nd Jul 03 05:26 PM

The version number on both packages is 9.00.00.2980, and the files in the packages are the same. Looks like it's just build 2980, not 3008.

SlickVic78 2nd Jul 03 05:48 PM

.3008 is just the patch that should be within Windows Update that plugs a security flaw within the player... That is how I was able to update it from .2980 to .3008.

Sorry DoG and if you are under a download cap I am very sorry. :(

However I also downloaded the new update and installed it. The version number said 9.00.00.3008. I think it is probably because of an automatic update. I am going to edit the topic title anyway. Sorry again for any inconvinience caused by me.

I am running 3005 at the moment

I will try it and see what the version number is

Thanks

I've had this happen to me once before as well... If I remember correctly, I did a system restore that triggered this behavior...

I had this happen after I upgraded WMP9 and tried to play a AVI file before rebooting. It's because WMP9, just having been upgraded, is expecting another version of the file it sees. After re-booting, I never saw the message again.
