Anyways, seems to me either yesterday or today....or right around this general time frame.......2 years ago B1 was first founded and started up by 'Orig'. I should know.........I was one of the first ppl to be here, and I was a Mod at the time.

Anyways....2 yrs has passed and I can no longer say for sure if its the same place it was when I was here. Maybe its just me, but it seems like there's not much news or updates goin on around here these days.......software/beta news anyways. Feel free to jump in and correct me, but it just seems like B1 has lost its 'touch' or maybe its passion for what it does(or did). I dunno wut it is now, but something seems missing from this place. Not as exciting to come here as it used to be.

Oh well. Just my humble opinion.......happy 2 yr anniv B1!. Maybe in the next year we can regroup and change B1 back into an exciting place 2 be, where all the news&updates r happenin b4 anyone else gets em.

Hehe, what is it with our anniversary date? So many people (including myself) think/thought it was in june. Weird... The bad thing is I can't be here for the party this year, I'll be on a holyday to france by then.

BetaONE never lost its touch with alpha/beta or any development release. BetaONE, had since "signed" on the dotted line to go wares free. This manuveur has brought the community even closer together, as many of us now know each other by name, and plan to actually visit phsically on occasion.

BetaONE is now MORE then ever a online family. Hopefully, with enough trust and love, we can take the online OUT, and setup planned meetings... Kind of what "www.offtopic.com" does.

I too miss "Orig/PheniX." However, the move (in my opinion) was very successful, I'm sure that if he choose to come back to here, he would be treated like family in an instant.

Well yes something has changed. There is no real os to review and play with atm. Longhorn is still VERY alpha imo. We had XP to be anxious for - remember? :)

WE still get them! We had the beta of messenger the day it was "un-hot-linked" to microsoft, and we still get the important news.

So there you are. Dont worry tcm its still a great place to be. No flaming (except when spammers piss me off <_< ) and a very comfortable place to learn new stuff!

I swear the anniv was in JUNE. I swear my life on it.....well....maybe. ;). I'm so sure B1 started on or around June 14th, 2001, that I dare ANYONE to go back and recheck the dates, archives just to make sure. I remember cuz it was right on or around my b-day which is June 21st....So the 2 yr anniv was either this past weekend, or next. It has 2 be. Even ask Orig to confirm(for those who still keep in touch with him)

P.s.- Even though below my avatar says I joined in July 2002, thats actually wrong. At the time the board was being hit by hackers, dos attacks, or what have u and my original info was lost somehow(along with a host of other ppls, i'm sure), so they just reset my info 2 say I joined in July 2002 and told me not to think much of it, which I didn't. And besides, i'm not talking about MY personal anniv w/B1, I'm talking about the Board's anniv.......the very 1st day this forum/board even opened up, which i'm positive it was June. I seriously think our Anniv is past us already, and we kinda missed it. I was indeed one of the first ppl here, wouldn't I know this? Sure I would :)

Thanks folks, thats all the evidence I was looking for. Thought about searching members by join date only after I made the last post. came back and discovered someone had taken the liberty to display the search results for me. It WAS June 14th, 2001 that B1 opened its doors for the 1st time. So TY :) (sorry, I love 2 be right. lol)

actually I dont believe that the board was set up from June 14th, I think it was just orig messing with it, until he got it set up... that is why everyone else has the July 9th opening date... When you set up a board for the first time the very first acct is the admin acct, you could potentially have a blank forum board for months; you have to go into the admin cp and create all the forums and the permissions, add your choosen skin, create user groups; the list goes on.. a board doesnt really become a board until it has more than one member because that is what makes it a forum, discussion; talking to ones self doesnot count. So as to that fact July 9th is BetaOne's birthday as a forum. And that is how we will celebrate it.

2 years now... Not bad. I wasn't here from the very first days. It took the time for the rumour to get all the way to my place.
We have had ups and downs during the time. For the moment I think most is well with the board. This is thanks to the crew. I, or probably all members rather, really appreciate your work.

yeah happy birthday b1!, i still remember when orig first came up with the idea, at the time i was more into irc then www forums, but i did finnally sign up and i'm glad i did b1 is a great community. thanks for all your hard work guys.

I'm member #141 and I joined 11 July 2001. So June it was for sure. I joined because I had just returned home from France where telephone dialup was really expensive and I wanted in the worst way to participate in the WinXP Beta period. Man, it was great.....and betaone made it better.

Never stopped liking this board and hope we're all still as "interested" when/IF Longhorn ever makes it to Beta. Maybe we'll be looking instead at some new great LInux distro by then. Hey, that wouldn't be bad either! <wry grin>

wow didn't relize its been that long. Remember when it was the battle between Iexbeta and betaone - I beleive it was under a different name back then... Well either way Iex kinda took a dive and now the two forums went there seperate ways.. I too see that news in the forum has begun to slow over the years... Wasn't it all about the betas in the beginning?
