And just out of curiosity did you go into add windows components and add direct connect?? It is in there and it should help you configure everything

1: computer name was insterted as

computer name

and not \\computer name

secondly: yes i did install direct cable connect from add/remove proggies...

but still no go...I've decided to quit the whole process, gonna get me another network card instead.....besides, Direct cable is crap slow
