As the floppy works for Bads in safe mode I guess it works...:)

However, I've seen Bads 1 for a while in different forums, a kind of massive trouble period. (Floppy doesn't work, Anacronis can't restore/write floppy/write cd, only focused window work and more.)

Bads: Why not start over? Your XP seems very sick.

Thanks .unicorn,

But this installation is from 17 april 2002 :) Not too old but I will try SFC another time :)

April 17? Now I get worried! Maybe you should do a hardware checkout too...

I have seen a few probs within XP when installed on a few machines where for some reason in the bios it has set the floppy drive to a 5 1/4 for some stupid reason, might be worth checking as when trying it in safemode it worked prefect.

Its only a thought

Probably a stupid suggestion but I had a problem writing to floppy's (but not reading them) and it turned out to be that somehow I had disabled the "Removable Storage" service....This would explain why it works in DOS and in Safe Mode, but not in Windows....

Check it out....;)

I have try to disable the "Removable Storage" service, but this is not working for me Pcdad12078

I see something new tonight,

When I try to right on the floppy, a little file like a shortcut or a .txt is working.

But if I try a big file, my modem disconnect  and the computer freeze

My modem is an Aopen "hardware modem" non PnP and after the modem hangup, the IRQ ressource must be set manually  That's very strange because my Floppy drive and my modem are not using the same IRQ

What I meant was that mine somehow got disabled and setting it to "automatic" seemed to fix things for me...

Don't quite get the thing with the modem tho...
