I've had this happen to me once before as well... If I remember correctly, I did a system restore that triggered this behavior...

I had this happen after I upgraded WMP9 and tried to play a AVI file before rebooting. It's because WMP9, just having been upgraded, is expecting another version of the file it sees. After re-booting, I never saw the message again.
