As I mentioned, the first 2 steps are really unneeded. I ended up keeping them in my process since I was used to using them when working with DVD COPY. I don't necessarily need to use them anymore, but I choose to do so.

All I am doing, is turning the DVD into an image, and then using Daemon Tools to read the image as if it were an actual DVD Drive with the DVD inside. That's about it. Then I select my virtual drive that has the image loaded within DVD Shrink. You could just skip the first 2 steps I use and go straight to loading up AnyDVD, or just go straight to DVD Shrink.

What I like about AnyDVD though is that it allows you to totally skip out on the trailers and advertisements in the beginning of the movie before you get to the movie or the menu. So that is why I included AnyDVD into my process.

My method is still DVD to WMV9 with WMA9 Professional 5.1 Audio : http://www.microsoftusernetwork.com/mcored. ;)

However since Nero Recode started supporting AVC I am tempted to backup DVDs to ND-MPEG4 AVG. The major downfall of this is that you can only play it in Nero ShowTime and not in any other DirectShow compliant player.

I use AnyDVD, but not the section that removes adds etc.
Tell me...if you check "jumps directly to title menu" , does it keep the full menu function in place? And, does it get rid of all the adds, AND any special features that may be on the DVD?

Well being that I just purchased AnyDVD last night and tried it out once, it seemed to work just as it stated. I had selected the option to take me straight to the title menu, and sure enough, as soon as I popped the DVD into the player, it went straight to the menu without having to sit there and watch the trailers, etc. Everything was fully functional, and as far as I could tell, nothing was missing at all.

AnyDVD does mention that skipping to Menu Title may not always work. Not even skipping to movie. If you right click on the options it will tell you this.

Do any of you use the "Quality Enhancements" after hitting the Back Up button and then going to the Quality Settings tab? If so, which option do you use? When would you use it?

No I do not use this. I never really noticed it, and I have not clue what what it can possibly do.

I am still interested in knowing too. Is there anyone here that uses a particular "Quality Enhancements" setting? If so, which one yields the best results, or do you just continue to not use this feature?

I just purchase DVDFab Platinum since I heard some pretty nice things with the program. I'll probably play around with this one as well to see which program gives me the best results. I don't think I'll stop using DVD Shrink since it is still a very nice program.
