Hi,

I'm currently running an Asus P4B Motherboard (w/P4 1.7GHz). I was all set to upgrade to the P4B266 so I can use DDR, but I noticed there's a P4B533 MoBo available now. It provides a 533MHz Front Side Bus. The others only do 400MHz.

Has anyone upgraded to any of these 533 FSB motherboards yet? Is there really much of a speed increase over the standard 400MHz boards or is it just another one of those 'latest and greatest' things to get more $$ out of us? The P4B533 is about $100 (AUD) more, so I'm trying to figure out if it's really worth considering. Any help or input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
E3

TSS recently covered this, it IS the fastest board they've ever seen, it's using quad-pump to get the faster speed. there IS a speed increase, but it's only 5 to 10 percent by most estimates, not worth an upgrade at all, unless you're anal about having the latest.
