And do you want to get rid of the USB device? I can recommend it! I had some trouble connecting some USB modems, and never had any with Ethernet ones.

The avarage network adapters are very cheap, but most ethernet ADSL modems tend to be more expensive then tha USB models are though.

I myself are using an Alcatel TouchSpeed Home, and after tweaking it to a Touchspeed Pro model (witch supports DHCP Proofing) I'm a very happy user. It is absolutly not a good firewall, but it's an excelent router.

Cheers,
Cactus

If it's not too cheeky to ask- how much did you get one for? Ball Park figure

Am prety new to adsl so not to sure on terminology yet. Would you suggest a seperate router and modem or combined? Does the Speed touch you have need a seperate ethernet card? ( Not that it matters- have 3 or 4 in a drawer somwhere!)

Thanx for replying

Hi DoG,

My modem cost me 174,51 Euro. It's not the lowest price you can get, but I didn't search on it since my ISP had to provide one.

It doesn't realy need and 'own' ethernet card, you can also plug it into a hub/switch.

Hopes this helps.

Cheers
Cactus
