THE PRICE OF CELERON desktop processors from Intel fell today, confirming our earlier reports.
When and how Intel will lower the price of its desktop chips.

The top range Celeron, only recently released, falls to $102, and the 2.3GHz Celeron drops to $89. Other Celeron prices, as we reported before, drop to giveaway rates with items like the 1.7GHz Celeron and below dropping to just over $50 ? so indicating these chips have reached the end of the road.

Intel proposes to introduce a 2.60GHz Pentium 4 Celeron next, followed by a 2.70GHz and a 2.80GHz Celeron, currently slated for the first quarter of next year.
