[color=darkblue:d55fb00a9d]Does anyone know if there is a difference in cdroms being ata 66 or 100 comatable? I know they use atapi but after a recent upgrade to an ata100 hd and cable, the cd rom wouldnt slave properly. Swap back to old 66 cable everything's fine! [/color:d55fb00a9d]

I would think that the cables are backwards compatible to use a 66 cdrom with a 100 cable. I had trouble using a 100 HDD with a 66 cable though. Switched to a 100 cable and it worked.

Hi Dell, I have had the same problem with CD Readers. Especially older ones. They do not seem to function with the ATA100 interface. Like you did I have connected them to the ATA66 section on the MOBO and everything worked fine after that...
