It's the CDR software messed up your system. I had the similar problem on the very 1st version of Roxio 5 (a piece of junk) and CDRWin. Nero rocks

I installed CDRWin 3.8e for my acer 24x cdrw and got the same message. But it works with CDRWin 4.0. The Golden Hawk site says that compatible drivers are included with versions 3.8f-4.0 but not with earlier versions. If this doesn't work for you their site lists a number of other fixes -- more than I cared to deal with!

Correct me if I am wrong....but that program needs a serial to work?

Where did you get yours? You may want to try a new one

I ask because I am sure that I used that program once and it couldnt find either of my CD drives - blacklisted serial

Hello Mitch1.

Unless you are very partial to Roxio's product i would suggest switching to Nero 5.5.7.2. I had problems with Easy CD, with the same op-sys as you and have since used Nero w/o any probs.

Since dumping Roxio and sticking with Nero, I haven't had any more problems. CDRWin needs an install of aspi under xp, as I recall, but, again, I've not seen the need for it. Agree 5572 is the one to stick with for now.
