I'm going to buy a new pc, and have seen this one in Aldi.

The specs are, as quoted from the box....

The pc manufacturer is medion.

P4 533mhz fsb, 512kb 2nd level cache
md-5000 m-atx motherboard with 3 pci slots
nvidia geforce 4 with 128mb ddr sdram
sony cd writer 40x12x48
dvd player 16x
seagate 120gb 7200rpm hard drive
6 channel audio for 5.1 sound
256mb ddr 333mhz ram
onboard nic
56k modem
intellimouse/keyboard
stereo tv-fm-tunercard
firewire port
built in smartcard reader
5xusb ports

Software
nero
powerdvd
mediashow
power director
musicmatch
power cinema
windows xp home
works 2003
encarta 2003
euroroute 2002

All this for £679

15" tft monitor = £179

So, all together £858.

So, do you think it is worth the price, has anyone bought a medion pc before?

Not bad. You don't say what speed the processor is. Not too sure on the motherboard though ...

I think you should be able to get a faster processor for that price. Everything else sounds good though. I nearlly got a Medion pc from Aldi once. It was £800 and it was a 1.8Ghz pc. It was too good to be true though. I got up early on the first day they were available and went in and they had sold them all already!!

Anyway, I bought the pc from Aldi.

It's black and silver, for the fashion conscious amongst us , it's fast/quiet.

I like to copy dvd's to vcd's and normally it takes 6 hours on my old Dell p3 866 512mb pc100 pc, to encode a 2 hour film, but this one does it in 2 hours.

So for now I'm happy, thanks for your replys.
