Idling is not the same as hammering. Hammering is the attempts made in a certain amount of time. When using cuteftp, go to global settings, and ensure you are not attempting to connect over and over too quickly. Most servers expect 65+ seconds between attempts, and make the attempts a max of 3-5.

Idle settings are done by the actual server - this is to ensure that people do not hold a connection when it is no longer needed. I use 300 seconds personally.

Hope this helps.

Good answer trm

[b:f762f63be1]fe_yang[/b:f762f63be1], Also when you first connect, [b:f762f63be1]read the Welcome message[/b:f762f63be1] at the very beginning.

Usually theres a custom message that defines or sets the rulez for that particular server, listing what the idle time out is, hammer, conn retrys, blah, blah, blah.
