Hello,

I have an SMC Barricade 4 port router and have a cable connection.

I am trying to set up an FTP server to the outside world obviously. The problem lies in the issue that I can only connect to my internal IP(eg 192.168.xxx.xxx), not to the 24.xxx.xxx.xxx

I have set the following in my router:

"Setup | Advanced Settings | Virtual Server

Enter the information you want.

Private IP Private Port Type Public Port
1. 192.168.75.101 21 TCP 21
"

also,

"Setup|Advanced Settings|MiscellaneousItemSetting

IP Address of Virtual DMZ Host 192.168.75.101"

Is this correct? The internal firewall is disabled. and I do not understand what setting may be incorrect.

Help if possible please.

Thanks,

Sam.

VP is an unknown quantity at this point
Are u sure that 192.168.75.101 is correct ?
I think it should be 192.168.1.101

FORWARDING:
Service Port Range Protocol IP Address
20 - 21 Both 192.168.1.101

DMZ
192.168.1.0

You should even add the port# 20, as it's used for control data in a FTP transfer.

Yes Im sure of the 192.168.75.101 because I changed it myself for security reasons?!

Anyhow, Bearcat: My router does not let me set 192.168.75.0 as DMZ, the range allowed is only between 1-254

I do not get it and am stumped. If the DMZ address is the issue, does anyone else with this type of router use this board and bypassed this flaw?

Also, I have the mos recent firmware for it.

Thanks again,

Sam.
