I was using cute ftp on windows me. I now have windows xp. Uusally I take the entire driectory of cute ftp that I have backed up and paste it into the new directory in my operation system. This gives me all of the old ftp sites and passwords that I used to have. For some reason this will now work in windows xp. Is there something else that I need to do. I have cute ftp version 4 and I even tried to import the sm.data file that was supposed to have the sites and passwords saved in it. Nothing seems to work. I several sites and since the passwords are blocked out, it would be a pain to get the information out. Thanks!

Hello gplracer

I understand that you have install xp and not keep ME ? That's right ?

You can import the sm.dat

or you can also save your ftp sites informations as a .txt

Let me know

Thanks Bads 1. I tried to import the sm.data file but for some reason it did not work. My friend said that since I have windows xp and cute ftp I might have to do it differently. He said both are made for multiple users. He thought the file might need to go under documents and settings somewhere under the user it is for. I tried the sm.data file on another computer with windows me and it worked fine. Any other suggestions? Also, how do I get a text file? Part of the current problem is that I do not remember all of the passwords. In cute ftp you can not see them. Thanks!

Hi gplracer,

If you save your FTP list as a .txt file,

You will see all your password and username.

File--Site Manager--Export Site Info--Full Site infos and you will save this one as a .txt

This is what CuteFtp make
