Hi

Can someone help with this problem.
I have bought a new DFI M/B AK75-EC and it uses the VIA VT8363A northbridge and VT82C686B south bridge.
I have tried to install the KT133 AGP driver to enable AGP Axeleration but it wont work in XP
My AGP Spec Revision 2.0 is not enabled in XP so I am not getting AGP 1x 2x or 4x acceleration nor Side band Addressing.

Does anyone know of a driver or how to get this working in XP.

My previous M/B Asus K7m worked fine but that had an AMD north bridge.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Jannie

might wanna look in your BIOS to make sure your BIOS supports such features and make sure they are enabled first....then ya can go from there

I don't know if this helps, but I am running MSI K7T Pro 2A with KT133 chipset and I am getting agp 4x data rate & side band addressing enabled. My Radeon video card does'nt support fast writes or 4gb addressing. I only said all this to say that this is with XP2600 provided drivers, I have not attempted to install any new VIA drivers because the native XP drivers work fine. Since you are OK in Win 2000 maybe your video card has a compatbility problem with XP. Also like the other suggestions, some of your bios settings may have been secretly changed when you installed XP, I would recheck bios.

Ok the following on this issue.
I have read all the articals, and d/l some of the stuff they had, but none of them will work under XP.
What I can assitain so far is that the VIA AGP 4x/KT133 vxd driver is not loaded in XP.
I can not use the via drivers as they only support up to win2K.
So I will post to DFI/VIA for some help.

By the way, thanks for giving me the links to via hardware. I picked up a very nifty tool called Memoryenabler.
This worked wonders in win2K.
With Sisoft Sandra my Alu increased from 379 to 511 and my FPU from 397 to 573 that is a 35% and 44.5% increase respectively.
3D Mark 2000 from 5842 to 6012

Well if you guys come across some info regarding the KT133A / VT8363A Chipset /AGP on XP please let me know.

Thanks
Jannie
