Do you remember when RAM cost about a $1.00 a Megabyte? I can recall how volatile RAM prices were rising and falling almost like the daily temperature. The memory industry was still very young and memory quantities were so limited, as well as slow production rates, it remained costly up until we reached the SDRAM era.
Well, fortune shined down upon the memory industry and things began to improve. Factories updated, researched, and kept on building better facilities Double Data Rate (DDR) modules which brings us to the very abundant DDR2 modules. There are some who think that DDR2 is fast on its way out, but this is not the case.
