Intel Atom & Centrino Atom Technology Report
A month ago, we were given the first details on Intel's Silverthorne processor (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...no=506&pgno=1). Unlike the Intel Core 2 processors (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...no=499&pgno=0), the Silverthorne processor (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...no=517&pgno=0#) is built around the new IA micro-architecture which allows for better power efficiency and yet is fully compatible (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...no=517&pgno=0#) with the Core 2 instruction set.

On March 3, 2008, Intel not only launched the Silverthorne processor, they also released details of the Diamondville processor and the two new brand names to go with them. Let's take a look at the new Atoms!
