National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and HP Provide Parents with Kit That Can Be Created, Printed at Home
HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced it has teamed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to offer parents a free, do-it-yourself child safety identification kit to help promote child safety awareness and protect children.
The kit is available for download at
http://www.HP.com/go/safe-kids from anywhere with Internet access -- at home, public libraries, retail copy centers or schools. Using a computer, printer and a child's photo, the kit can be completed and printed in approximately 15 minutes.
"We're living in an age where child safety is a top concern on every parent's mind, especially at the beginning of a new school year," said Michael D. Capellas, HP president. "Aligning our technology with the Center's commitment is an excellent example of how HP and NCMEC continue to promote the safety and welfare of children."
The child safety ID kit allows parents to create and print a single comprehensive document that records important information about their children, including photos and unique physical characteristics. The kit also offers useful tips, important phone numbers and contacts, and steps to take if a child is missing.
