DISABLE SCREEN WHEN RUNNING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 7.1

If you use Windows Media Player 7.1 only for audio playback, such as
listening to MP3s, you can conserve power by assigning a program button
to disable the screen. Follow these steps to assign a screen shutdown
button for WMP 7.1:

1. Open Windows Media Player 7.1 on the Pocket PC.

2. Tap the Tools menu and select Settings | Buttons.

3. Within the Select Function drop-down menu, choose Screen Toggle.

4. Press a program button on the front panel of the handheld that you
want to use as the screen toggle button. The screen will then shut
down.
Reactivate the screen by pressing the program button again.

5. Check Un-map Buttons During Background Play.

6. Tap OK in the top-right corner of the screen.

You can now toggle the screen on and off during WMP use by tapping the
designated program button.

NOTE: The program button will function normally if WMP is running in
the background of another active application.
