The UnitedLinux organization plans today to release their first public beta. As of writing this, only the TurboLinux ftp site has an ongoing uploading of the UnitedLinux ISO file. Watch out for more.
UnitedLinux (UL) and its four partner companies - Conectiva, SuSE Linux, The SCO Group and Turbolinux - are all members of the Open Source community and support terms of the GNU General Public License and Lesser General Public License. As a development organization, UnitedLinux does not distribute software directly to end users. Rather all beta and final product versions are distributed by the UL partner companies.
From time to time, the UL partners will require their customers and partners to sign non-disclosure agreements to safeguard certain elements of work in progress, which are the intellectual property of the respective companies. Such non-disclosure agreements, however, exclude information or software code, which can be shown to be in the public domain.
For more information on beta distribution programs and non-disclosure agreement terms for each of the partner companies, please refer to their respective Web sites.
