EPEAT (
http://www.epeat.net/), the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool, is a United States environmental rating organization. It is operated by the Green Electronics Council (
http://www.greenelectronicscouncil.org/) (GEC). The ratings encompass desktops, notebooks and monitors. The U.S. government has mandated that federal PC purchases must be EPEAT-rated PCs. Of course, the executive order (
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea...0070124-2.html) doesn't say exactly how high a rating they must have, just that they be registered.
