SecurityTracker has repotred several vulnerabilites in the handling of HTML code in well known browsers, such as Mozilla, Opera, Links and Lynx, which could result in denial of service attacks.
These vulnerabilities lie in the treatment of certain sequences of HTML tags and formats which, when loaded in the browser, could provoke denial of service conditions.
The combinations of tags in question vary according to the affected browser. In Mozilla some TEXTAREA, INPUT, FRAMESET and IMG tags followed by a NUL and additional characters would cause the crash, while in Opera the problem is produced with an oversize COL SPAN tag in a TBODY section.
