_______________
Now that 24" LCDs are affordable and practically commonplace manufacturers are starting to push the next size up. For some time the next size was 30", which not only increased the physical size of the display, but also increased the resolution. In the release of 27" models we see the industry returning to the structure that is used before- having two LCD sizes (at least) per resolution. The pairings are 17"/19", 20"/22" and now 24"/27", so you can get the resolution you want and either save some money and get the smaller display or spend a bit extra on the larger LCD. This puts 27" displays at 1920x1200, a noticeable upgrade from 1680x1050 and a dramatic step up from that 1280x1024 17" monitor that's sitting in your basement.
